Sound waves, not moving parts.
A mechanical meter measures by being pushed, so it wears, it drifts, and it under-reads exactly where consumption matters most — at low flow. RIVA times an ultrasonic pulse travelling with the water against one travelling against it. Nothing in the pipe moves, so the reading it gives in year ten is the reading it gave on day one.
| Measurement principle | Dual transit-time ultrasonic — zero moving parts, no wear, no drift |
|---|---|
| Accuracy | ±1% across the working flow range |
| Ingress protection | IP68 sealed aluminium and ABS housing, rated for pits and flooded chambers |
| Battery life | 7-year lithium cell on an ultra-low-power MCU |
| Connectivity | LoRaWAN and NB-IoT — long range, through concrete shafts and basements |
| Edge intelligence | Leak and anomaly detection processed on the meter itself |
| Display | Always-on consumption readout on the meter face |
| Tamper detection | Raised to the dashboard as an alert, no site visit required |
| Installation | Non-invasive retrofit — no plumbing overhaul, no resident rewiring |
| Offline behaviour | Meters and gateways store readings locally and sync when the link returns |
| Platform uptime | 99.9% cloud availability |
| Deployment time | 3–5 working days for a typical 100-unit building |
One platform, two front doors.
One dashboard
Every meter in the property on a single screen, with common-area consumption kept separate from residential use.
Leak alerts
Detection runs on the meter itself, so abnormal or continuous flow is flagged the day it starts.
Automated billing
Bills calculated from the same readings, on the tariff you configure, downloadable by each resident.
